The new Guiyang COVID-19 emergency center -- located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- got the green light from authorities very quickly.
Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning issued a building permit for the city-level public health rescue center almost immediately after it received the application on Feb 5.
The center is specifically designed to deal with the novel coronavirus outbreak. The new facility -- which will be located at 566 Dazhi Road, Huaxi district in Guiyang -- with a floorspace of 28,192 square meters.
The bureau activated its rapid response protocols, telling the contractors what to do and what is required for the application at each stage.
A fast-track channel was provided for the project, with special staff put in charge of handling the process. All procedures were completed within less than three hours, according to the project leader.
