The Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning helped complete the acceptance survey for the Guizhou Provincial Staff Hospital – located in Guiyang city, in Southwest China's Guizhou province – that was updated for treatment for COVID-19 patients on Feb 10.

To upgrade itself into a COVID-19 facility, the hospital expanded its capacity and contacted the bureau to do the final survey for the construction work.

The bureau organized an emergency team of the Guiyang Institute of Surveying and Mapping to immediately go to the project site.

Drones were engaged to carry out high-precision surveying and mapping operations using oblique photogrammetry – involving unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based low-altitude remote sensing – was augmented with a Guiyang Beidou satellite foundation enhancement system.

The survey method avoided cross infections, without disturbing the normal medical work routines as the hospital had already admitted COVID-19 patients.

Survey of the internal work will be carried out soon.

After it is completed, the bureau will guide the hospital to apply for the final acceptance of the project and help it quickly pass an assessment.
