Meeting held to promote construction of 'civilized city'

The Party committee of Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning held an extra large meeting on July 15 to re-deploy this year's civilized city construction work.

'National civilized city' is the most influential city brand in China. Guiyang has achieved the title of national civilized city three consecutive times since 2011. It is a high honor which reflects a city's comprehensive strength and core competitiveness.

Gao Yang, secretary of the Party committee of the bureau, pointed out the significance of establishing a national civilized city. The main responsibilities of the bureau should be undertaken earnestly, Gao added, with every effort made to fulfill the critical tasks of civilized city construction in 2020.

Gao requested that all the bureau staff, including officials, should participate in the "civilized city" campaign to help the city win the title once again.

He added that materials needed for construction work - such as urban planning maps, documents regarding rural residential environment improvement, "sponge city" planning and construction, and industry civilization publicity - should be organized and submitted with high efficiency. Work that needs coordination with provincial authorities must be pre-planned, and must be fruitful.

As the only site for field visits to the natural resources and planning system, Guiyang's urban and rural planning exhibition hall should be made a key window to showcase a good city and provincial image to the outside world.
