Guiyang's bureau of natural resources and planning carried out on-the-spot inspections of work safety and fire protection measures in Kaiyang county – administered by Guiyang city, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – on April 3.

During one inspection, the local Shuangyong tree farm was checked strictly and was called on to demonstrate its fire prevention and fire tackling measures.

Du Huazhi, the director of the bureau, investigated Kaiyang's overall work situations, remarking that safe production and manufacturing protocols and fire safety measures could not be over emphasized.

He added that Kaiyang also needed to assess the various situations, identify potential risks and make safety its top priority.

When it comes to the investigation and handling of hidden dangers, the preventative arrangements at key towns, in villages and for transportation attract a great deal of attention – while crucial work concerning non-coal mines, the chemicals industry, tourism and potential natural disasters during the flooding season are of great concern.

Du also announced that a series of investigations and inspections would be carried out throughout June.
