Geographic Information Big Data Innovation Center unveiled

The new Guizhou Geographic Information Big Data Innovation Center – located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – held its unveiling ceremony on May 13.

Apart from all its staff members, officials from the Guiyang Bureau of Natural Planning, Guizhou Tuzhi Information Technology Co, the Guizhou Surveying and Mapping Archives Center and the Guizhou Academy of Sciences attended the ceremony.

The center was set up for integrating resources, to bring about the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. Commercialization is widely regarded as being the benchmark, as well as an indicator for the developing big data industry in Guizhou.

In addition, solutions and demonstration models will be co-built at the facility, to help incubate a new type of smart city.

As far as the innovation center is concerned, it is widely felt that more opportunities should be seized to improve the allocation efficiency of industrial resources and to promote the transformation of the province's economic structure.

During the ceremony, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed, calling for deeper cooperation in the near future.
