A visit was recently conducted by the Guiyang Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning to Zhongba village in Shidong town – located in Xifeng county, administered by Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – to help boost rural revitalization there.

The delegation was led by Gao Yang, secretary of the Party committee of the bureau.

The visit was an initiative undertaken by the bureau to help consolidate and expand local achievements in poverty alleviation, as well as to promote rural revitalization.

In the village, delegation members held a meeting with local officials, to get full knowledge of any challenges currently being faced in implementing rural revitalization – as well as taking on board any suggestions that were offered.

Gao also thanked the local government for its care and support for the bureau's cadres who now work in Shidong town.

She put forward guidelines for the cadres at the meeting, asking them to study various policies and requirements regarding rural revitalization, inform their colleagues, listen to any input from locals, as well as get to know the needs of residents and respond to them in a judicious manner.

Gao also urged them to improve their capabilities and use the bureau's planning resources and design technology, so as to make positive contributions to Zhongba village's collective economic development and rural revitalization.

Liu Fuhai, secretary of the Party committee of Shidong town, gave a short briefing on Zhongba village's customs, its population size, development status and local industry. Liu told the meeting that with the support of the bureau, the village would enjoy greater development.

Representatives from both sides also discussed development plans and the needs of the industries in the village.

After the meeting, the delegation visited some Party members and students in difficulties, encouraging them to have confidence and ask local cadres for help.

The delegation also visited a honeysuckle plantation in Zhongba village. Cultivating honeysuckle flowers – a key ingredient of herbal medicines and health products – is currently one of the main sources of employment in the village.
