Guiyang natural resources bureau to enhance mineral resource management

Guiyang Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning held a meeting on Nov 2 to discuss the mineral resource management in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The meeting pointed out that mineral resources are essential for industrial development. Currently, Guiyang's mineral products have limited varieties, low additional value and are lacking utilization.

Mineral resource management should meet the needs of economic and social development, and solve the problems of mine prospecting, mineral resource exploitation and environmental protection.

The bureau will cooperate with provincial natural resources and planning department to prospect mineral resources, plan for the utilization and protection of mineral resources, increase the local commercialization of mineral resources, and crack down on illegal exploitation of mineral resources.

The bureau will also achieve economic, social and environmental benefits by utilizing mineral resources, and it will boost economic development with sustainable mineral resource utilization and environmental protection.
