Leaders from the Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning – located in Guiyang city, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – undertook a fact-finding trip to the district of Wudang on May 11, to check out the results from the municipal government's mine restoration and governance work.
After receiving a briefing on recent work, the bureau officials urged the district to strengthen its regulation of funds allocated for mines that are either in operation or that are under construction.
They also urged the district to fully implement measures listed on its mine restoration plan.
Subsequently, officials inspected four local sand grinding mills.
