Deputy director inspects geological hazard prevention work

Rao Xiaoxi, deputy director of the Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning, visited the Baiyun and Guanshanhu districts of Guiyang on June 17 to inspect and direct geographical hazard prevention and control work during flood season in order to ensure the safety of locals and their property.

Rao listened to work reports from the two districts' officials and conducted on-site research on places where collapses and landslides are likely to occur.

Afterwards, Rao urged relevant government bodies to closely monitor these vulnerable places and check their status more frequently. Officials were advised to use automatic measuring instruments in a scientific way, organize emergency drills, enhance all forms of education on geographical disaster response, set up warning signs in front of hazardous regions, and strengthen coordination among different departments.
