On June 6, the Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning organized the Guiyang division of the seventh Guizhou hand-drawn map competition for children, and evaluated the hand-drawn maps together with other municipal departments in charge of education, science and technology on July 11.
More than 700 hand-drawn maps including embroideries, oil paintings, and batiks were received in the Guiyang division, a record high. Candidates were divided into four age groups, with each group having five first-place-prize winners, 10 second-place-prize winners, and 15 third-place-prize winners.
The activity was designed to promote knowledge of maps, raise people's land security awareness, foster patriotism, and underscore the importance of safeguarding national unity and maintaining national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
