The Guizhou hand-drawn artwork competition kicked off on May 18, jointly hosted by the Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning, the Guiyang bureau of education, and the Guiyang association for science and technology.

Ran Wei, deputy head of the Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning, participated in the artwork evaluation and selection work during the recently concluded competition on July 10.

After checking the artworks individually, Ran urged that award-winning works cannot include those inconsistent with the national map drawing regulations. Judges should keep the principles of originality, innovativeness, and artistry in mind, and the assessment process should be as fair, open, and just as possible.

The competition included four age groups with artworks in various forms, such as oil and wax paintings and embroideries. The winners will receive five gold medals, 10 silver medals, and several copper medals, and 20 outstanding advisers will be rewarded.
