Municipal ecological meeting focuses on mine restoration

A municipal meeting on the ecological restoration of mining sites was held in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Oct 12.

Mo Hong, head of the ecological restoration office of the Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning, gave a briefing on the city's previous efforts to strengthen mine restoration.

Business operators responsible for the construction and production of local mines were urged to fulfill their duties in the protection and restoration of the mining environment.

The government work standard for mine restoration will be further specified, and officials have been asked to strictly obey the technical specifications of mine restoration issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The bureau will soon release a work plan to enhance the supervision of mine restoration and help mine-operating businesses to legally carry out mining activities.
