Liu Qixin, director of the municipal real estate registration center of the Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning, led a team to hold a promotion meeting on grassroots geological disaster prevention and control in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Dec 8.

Liu introduced Guiyang's current geological disaster prevention and control situation and exchanged opinions with local disaster management teams and front-line hidden trouble point monitors.

He also urged the necessity to popularize the Party's guidelines, principles, and policies, launch research, solicit public opinions, and work on the grassroots level to learn about people's needs and find practical solutions to existing problems.

After the promotion meeting, Liu went to a hazardous site vulnerable to geographical disasters and inspected the operation of the surrounding monitoring and alarming equipment, urging relevant staff members to strengthen reviews after the catastrophe, enhance the installation and maintenance of the equipment to ensure their normal running, improve people's awareness on natural disaster prevention and control, and evacuate locals effectively once the disaster occurs.
