On the morning of March 28, after undergoing renovations and upgrades, the Guiyang Urban and Rural Planning Exhibition Hall commenced trial operation and welcomed its first group of guests – approximately 100 local high school students that were on a study tour.
The exhibition hall is located in Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, and has a total construction area of nearly 20,000 square meters. The name of the hall was inscribed by Wu Liangyong, a renowned urban planning expert, architect, and academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Planning for the original hall began on Dec 30, 2010, and it officially opened to the public on July 26, 2012. The exhibition hall focuses on four main functions: exhibition, popular science, education, and exchange. The first and second floors showcase the urban layout of Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area, while the third floor houses the Guiyang Science and Technology Museum's urban life thematic exhibition. The fourth floor displays several urban layout sand tables.
Visitors can gain insights into Guiyang's historical development, urban spatial layout, and top-level urban designs within the hall.
