On April 2, a press conference was held in Southwest China's Guizhou province, where the "Measures for Forest Fire Prevention and Control during the Qingming Festival in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area" were introduced. It was specified that 3,179 forest fire checkpoints will be established in Guiyang and Gui'an, focused on monitoring unauthorized outdoor fires.
Forest rangers will be stationed at gravesites, mountain peaks, and road intersections. By utilizing the Guiyang forest fire comprehensive command platform, along with manual patrols, remote forest fire video surveillance points, forest and grassland fire perception systems, national satellite monitoring, and drone patrols, a multi-dimensional forest fire monitoring system will be implemented.
The municipal forestry bureau will continue to collaborate with relevant departments in charge of emergency management, public security, civil affairs, agriculture and rural affairs, comprehensive administration, and culture and tourism to conduct daily inspections, thus ensuring the strict implementation of forest fire prevention measures in all areas.
Simultaneously, Guiyang and Gui'an are advocating for civilized, environmentally friendly, and safe ways to worship ancestors, such as planting trees, offering flowers, and using online platforms.
During the Qingming Festival, various districts and counties will provide fresh flowers for the sacrificial activities in parks, checkpoints, cemeteries, and other locations.
