Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province are continuing to press forward with reforms on farmland, woodland, homesteads and construction land. On March 9, the Cuncun application – a big data platform for vacant rural houses in Guiyang and Gui'an – was put into use.

Last year, Guiyang restored 840 hectares of abandoned farmland and built 6,333.34 hectares of high-quality farmland.

The Duxi Forest Farm in Baiyun district has a total area of 220 hectares, adopting an operating model consisting of the management of forest farms, planting of enterprises, and participation of villagers. National forests are now rented to professional planting companies to develop an edible fungi economy, increasing local incomes. In 2023, the farm's tricholoma matsutake output neared 100,000 kilograms.

Guiyang has been experimenting with the flexible utilization of forestry resources to broaden income channels for villagers. In 2023, the city reported 7,913.33 hectares of underwood planting areas, and this year, it will build two herb bases, one vegetable base and 22 crop growing demonstration bases in woodlands.

Additionally, this year, Guiyang and Gui'an will sustain efforts to promote the utilization of homesteads, tear down vacant homesteads that don't meet government requirements, and reuse homesteads for construction or other purposes.
