Qingzhen takes measures against natural disasters

Qinglong sub-district, Qingzhen, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been focusing on the prevention and control of natural disasters through various measures to ensure the safety of locals and their properties.

The sub-district has been strengthening the rural geographical disaster treatment system and formulating relevant contingency plans. A natural disaster work group has been set up, and staff members responsible for the governance and monitoring of three hazard points in the sub-district have been assigned.

The sub-district strictly enforces a 24-hour emergency duty system, closely monitors weather changes, and ensures timely reporting of flood information and the rapid response of emergency teams.

Routine patrols will be conducted before and during flood season. Through door-to-door visits, pamphlet distribution, setting up posts, and repetitive cycle broadcasting, residents' awareness and understanding of natural disaster prevention and control have been enhanced. In addition, corresponding training for natural risk supervisors has been carried out to improve their disaster prevention and reduction skills.
