The Guizhou Provincial Department of Natural Resources held a preliminary acceptance meeting on July 18 for the new national basic surveying pilot in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The expert panel included Zhang Zhouping, deputy director of Xi'an Surveying and Mapping Institute, Peng Mingjun, deputy director of Wuhan Surveying Research Institute, and Xiang Zejun, chief scientist at Chongqing Surveying Science and Technology Institute, along with renowned experts from Guizhou.
After thorough questioning and discussion, experts unanimously agreed that the Guiyang pilot met the objectives approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources. The pilot completed all tasks with comprehensive and replicable results and was approved for preliminary acceptance.
At the meeting, the Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to implement the following steps. First, it will refine and enhance project content based on expert feedback, focusing on provincial and municipal coordination.
It will then collaborate with the Guizhou Provincial Third Surveying Institute to apply pilot results in natural resource management, land-use planning, and ecological protection. Finally, it aims to push forward and ensure high-quality final acceptance, providing a replicable model for the new national basic surveying system.
