The first batch of 15 exemplary cases of ecological mine restoration was unveiled at the China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2024, which was recently held in Tianjin.
Among the honored cases was the ecological restoration project of the Jinfeng Gold Mine, operated by Guizhou China National Gold Group Co.
The highlighted cases demonstrate advanced practices in prioritizing protection, source prevention and control, comprehensive planning, scientific implementation, technological leadership, and innovation.
These efforts have significantly improved the ecological system functions and living environments of mining areas. They have promoted the efficient and sustainable use of natural resources, facilitated industrial integration and transformation, and showcased the mining companies' commitment to social responsibility and their legal obligations for ecological restoration.
A Ministry of Natural Resources representative emphasized the significance of ecological mine restoration as a crucial component of ecological land and space restoration. This initiative is integral to the development of green mines and plays a vital role in promoting the mining industry's green transformation and high-quality development.
The recognition of these exemplary cases underscores the mining sector's ongoing commitment to fostering sustainable practices. It also sets a benchmark for future initiatives aimed at balancing industrial activity with ecological preservation.
