Southwest China's Guizhou province has launched the Qiancungui App, a digital platform designed to enhance agricultural development through efficient land resource utilization.

Qiancungui addresses key challenges in rural vitalization, such as high land selection thresholds, inadequate farmland protection, slow housing construction approvals, and limited resident participation in planning. It aims to improve the relationships between people, nature, land, homes, and communities.

The system includes four main modules:

The planning and site selection module utilizes three mapping methods – basic, simplified, and detailed – to provide comprehensive visual planning control. This module enhances site selection efficiency and meets various housing, infrastructure, and project land needs.

The farmland protection and patrol module effectively monitors and reports on farmland usage, helping to detect and rectify illegal activities early.

The homestead management module streamlines the entire approval process, allowing for online applications for homestead construction from initial application to final certification.

The public service module features data on beautiful and characteristic villages, offering immersive 3D and VR experiences for planning and development insights.

The App currently has 21,000 users. It has conducted over 94,000 site comparison analyses and provided 49,000 red-line data services. It has processed over 7,000 homestead applications in two pilot counties, with more than 3,000 already approved.
