The Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning held a press conference on Nov 27 to explain the "Guiyang and Gui'an Suburban Commodity Housing Land Layout Study", among other topics.
The study measured the area of the city's urban center at 207.61 square kilometers, the inner suburbs at 1,550.64 sq km, and the outer suburbs at 6,597.55 sq km.
Specifically, Guiyang's urban suburbs (including inner and outer suburbs) are defined as the areas outside Huancheng Expressway – Beijing West Road – Zhanxi Road – Guizun Road, Zhonghuan – Jiaxiu South Road –Sifanghe Road – Huaxi Avenue – Huaguan Road – west side of Nanming River, and beyond the core areas of Wudang and Huaxi.
Gui'an New Area's urban suburbs (including inner and outer suburbs) are defined as the area outside the core area of the Guiyang Big Data Innovation City.
The study identifies the suburban areas of Guiyang and Gui'an where commodity housing can be developed, aiming to support the stable and healthy growth of the real estate market.
In response to the national call to "support improved housing demand," Guiyang has studied the "Urban Forest Garden Housing Construction Standards" and adapted them to local conditions.
On Aug 13, Guiyang issued the "Guiyang Urban Forest Garden Housing Control Requirements (Trial)," combining rooftop gardens with modern housing to create buildings where every unit has a garden.
This initiative aims to enhance and standardize the planning and design of urban forest garden housing projects, promoting the creation of an eco-friendly and livable city, and improving the quality of the living environment.
Additionally, new buildings and renovations or expansions of existing buildings in Guiyang's urban center are encouraged to implement rooftop greening if they have flat roofs.
