The Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning, in collaboration with the Huaxi district government, carried out a geological disaster emergency evacuation drill on April 25 in group 5 of Dahang village, Qingyan town – a site identified as having potential landslide risks.
The drill simulated a realistic emergency scenario using fictional danger reports and live-action relocation exercises. It comprehensively tested every aspect of the emergency response system for geological hazards.
From the timely and accurate release of meteorological warnings to the swift transmission of disaster reports, the exercise demonstrated the coordinated efforts of experts and local leaders during emergency consultations. The drill also featured the rapid activation of emergency plans, on-site investigations by technical professionals, and the organized evacuation of residents at risk.
This simulation not only demonstrated the effectiveness and practicality of existing emergency response plans but also strengthened cross-department coordination and significantly raised public awareness of disaster prevention and risk avoidance.
