Guiyang completes selection for youth map-drawing competition

The Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning, in collaboration with local education departments, has concluded selections for Guizhou's 10th Youth Hand-drawn Map Competition. Titled "Little Hands Sketching China, Young Hearts Painting Splendid Landscapes", the event has attracted a record 956 entries from 150 schools across the city.  

A panel of experts evaluated submissions across four age groups, ranging from under 6 to 15 years old, with an emphasis on compliance with national mapping standards while assessing artistic creativity. Winning works incorporate diverse media such as batik dyeing, embroidery, and oil painting to express geographical and patriotic themes. The competition has awarded 30 prizes per age category, alongside special instructor recognitions.  

This initiative has significantly enhanced cartography understanding and national territory awareness, aligning with China's efforts to promote geographic literacy among young citizens.
