Qingzhen city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a selection event on Aug 22 for its waste sorting lecturers' group.
The competition featured two parts: self-prepared presentations and a quick Q&A, where 31 contestants from diverse fields took the stage, blending professional knowledge of waste sorting with personal stories and community experiences.
Judges scored participants across four dimensions: expertise, presentation skills, appearance, and time management, as well as creativity and impact. After rigorous evaluation, 12 lecturers were chosen and awarded certificates and prizes.
The new lecturers' group will carry out regular awareness campaigns in seven key areas: communities, schools, government offices, businesses, shopping malls, hospitals, and tourist sites. Lecturers will explain technical knowledge in everyday language, helping to spread environmental awareness across neighborhoods.
