Li Chunsheng, deputy director of the Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning, led a team to Xiuwen county on Nov 6 to inspect the execution of funds for abandoned mine ecological restoration and geological disaster control projects.

Li stressed the need to advance mine ecological restoration and disaster prevention, which contribute to the vision of high-quality, green development for "Cool Guiyang". The inspection was also joined by representatives from the bureau's ecological restoration and geological survey divisions, technical support units, and natural resource officials from Xiuwen county.

Li examined progress in slope reshaping and soil covering for vegetation restoration, identified challenges, and issued specific directives for ongoing work. He emphasized that mine ecological restoration and geological disaster mitigation are crucial components of ecological civilization construction and significant environmental and public welfare projects.

Li called on local natural resources bureaus to coordinate closely with governments, designers, supervisors, and construction units. Responsibilities include advancing project work, maintaining strict control over construction quality, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring safety.

Funding must be managed in accordance with approved plans to ensure security, efficiency, and high execution rates. Post-project supervision is equally important, requiring periodic site checks and ongoing maintenance to ensure the effectiveness of the restorations.
