Colorful Guizhou City reopens after renovation

Colorful Guizhou City in Guiyang's Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone welcomed guests, locals, and tourists with a completely renewed appearance for the opening ceremony of the 20th Guizhou Tourism Development Conference on March 30.

The scenic spot now features well-arranged greenery and forests following its renovation, with landscaped garden-style spaces unfolding in layers. Every step reveals a new view, with each alleyway and shop becoming a scenic spot in its own right.

Traditional ancient-style wine shops stand side by side with trendy modern bars, with intangible cultural heritage (ICH) experience activities, specialty dining, and cultural creative retail thoughtfully distributed throughout the area. The scenic spot's strong Guizhou character also allows visitors to immerse themselves in the region's unique charm and cultural depth.

Many locals have noted that after the renovation, the streets' layered landscapes have created more photo-worthy spots, and the wide array of shops now offers greater choices and a more comfortable visiting experience.

In addition to ICH crafts and local products, the scenic spot has introduced travel photography, craft beer bars, bookstores, and theaters.

Colorful Guizhou City currently has 123 businesses either in operation or preparing to open, including 67 catering businesses and 44 shops, with various hotels, cafes, and craft beer brands, ensuring a comprehensive experience for tourists of all ages.

The scenic spot will continue to utilize festival events and plan themed activities, such as Chinese New Year's markets and ancient-style garden parties, to create a lively consumption atmosphere of culture and tourism sectors.
